Fancy redesign fail

The title says it all, I just wanted to play around with their design and thought Reno might look cute with round glasses and Rude would be cool with some kind of tattoo? Eeeh... no, they look too much like someone else and I don't like that. I guess I like their real design too much.

Drunk people tell the truth

I guess I had a million ideas during the last decade of how Reno and Rude get from friendship to relationship. One, rather simple one, of these ideas is that Reno is actually running around with feelings for quite some time, unable to find the courage or to express what he actually thinks. He might have tried to talk to Rude when he was drunk but Rude didn't take it serious at all, not even thinking about the possibility that he's telling the truth. Maybe because Reno's usually one big idiot in general when he's drunk.

Bed time story

One thing I loved in the remake is Barret's portrayal and the absolute cuteness that were the scenes between him and Marlene ♥

Wet hair

I thought Reno's hair just has to look really stupid when it's wet, but actually this looks kinda cute.

Boring sketchy stuff

Two pretty boring sketches. Yuna, because the FF10 Soundtrack hit me out of nowhere and I had to listen to it the whole evening, and Tseng because ... Tseng?

Dark Star

(The dog's name was "Dark Nation" in the Original, I don't know why they've changed it, it sounds much cooler than "Dark Star".)
I know some people in the fandom have always seen some kind of bond between Rufus and the dog, I was kinda confused when I saw this for the first time. I always thought it's just a random dog, lol. Anyway, I love how Rufus calls Dark Star back in the Remake when you're close to killing it, this gives the impression that the dog (that looks like a freakin' nightmare, really) is kinda precious to him. ♥

Also some random Reno Oekaki. I actually have a lot of ideas about Rude/Reno stuff at the moment, but I would have to draw comics about it, everything's so long and I can't put it in one picture (and I don't have the time to draw "big stuff", graah. D:)

You love it, I know

I rewatched Advent Children Complete and I was really emotional about everything because I haven't watched it in a few years. I totally adore (pretty much every scene with Rude and Reno, buuut well) the scene at the end of this tunnel on the highway, where they talk about this bomb that Rude made. "You love it, I know" (or something like "I knew you're crazy about it / I knew you're into it" in the German version) is giving the impression that Rude made the bomb (not exlusively but among other things) for Reno's entertainment, lol.

What really upset me was the realization how super wrong everything about Reno is in the FF7 Remake ... Nothing in the previous works is indicating that Reno is such an asshole. I know the Turks have done some really bad stuff, and I'm not even talking about that, that's character development of course. But I think in the FF7 Remake he seems a bit off? His behaviour has never been so provoking and nasty, it used to be simply "cool"?
Also his looks are supposed to be "evil" in the FF7 Remake, I guess. In some scenes I even thought that his face is somewhat deformed, because it's got some weird edges around the chin and jaw. It never was like that, his facial features in the cutscene at the end of Crisis Core and in Advent Children are actually pretty feminine and ... I don't know ... soft? I totally lack a proper English vocabulary to express this, ugh. :')
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is ... I don't like how they portrayed him in the FF7 Remake and I'd like to stick with the Original.

It's hard to say this, I know a lot of people love the Remake and have never played the Original and that's totally fine. What bothers me is that there will be so many individual "canon" versions out there in the future because everyone is cherry picking. There's nothing wrong with that, I'm doing the same thing, it's simply the result of this really weird Remake, that is rather a Reinterpretation in my opinion.

Not tired

This was meant to be a cute couple pic ... the outcome is not so nice? When you're trying to sleep and someone next to you is staring at their phone it's actually super annoying. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Rude is able to put up a fight.
(It looks like Rude's got a super huge bara arm, but that's just my attempt to draw perspective, lol.)

Reno had a bad day

Saboten said "this will lead to a lot of injury-fanart" when we talked about the Turks getting beaten all the time and I was like: "Nah, I've done so many of those already."
But .... here we are again. I literally don't know what to say. :')
Except: I think it's funny how Reno still looks completely messed up some time after the plate comes down and Rude is all fine again (during this scene with Tseng in the conference room) and then like half a day later Reno's injuries have magically disappeared as well ...?

Please stop me. This scene with Tseng is so funny, tho. (And very good for my Tseng/Rufus cravings. )

Reno can't make up his mind

I think it's nice that the Turks have more screentime in the FFVII Remake, but Reno is such an undecided drama queen.

Aerith

I was doing requests at my tumblr to trick myself into drawing and Aerith was one of the requests. I didn't look into her remake outfit yet, but I am looking forward to get into the new designs.

Life goals

University was the best time of my life. All I did was sleep, draw and play video games (and study ... once in a while). My room was dark, PS3/4 was on all the time, I hardly left my bed and had so little to worry about. And everyone was fangirling about something!

I always liked to think about status effects and how they would look like in "real life" outside of battle. Buuut I think Barret could spare the few moments until Tifa arrives with that remedy.
